On the afternoon of May 22, 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the Opening Ceremony of the photo exchange and creation in Binh Thuan in 2023. This is an activity within the framework of the second "Vietnam International Photography Festival" event in 2023 in Binh Thuan .
Attending the event were leaders of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); leaders of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, and 30 photography artists from across the country.
On April 13, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 949/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the second "Vietnam International Photography Festival" in 2023 in Binh Thuan. This is an activity in the series of events of the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Binh Thuan. Through the organization of the Festival, it will contribute to gathering and enriching the photo collection of Binh Thuan from photographers and photography enthusiasts around the world , domestically and in the province to serve the promotion and introduction of the beauty of people, natural scenery, culture, and tourism of Binh Thuan province to domestic and international friends and tourists. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for international and Vietnamese photographers to exchange, learn, and introduce their creative achievements.
In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions Ma The Anh expressed his wish that, through this activity, he would aim to build a brand for Vietnamese photography, contribute to promoting the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam, and enhance international exchanges through photography activities. The photographers recorded and reflected the beauty of the people, culture, landscapes, and the construction and protection of the Fatherland of Binh Thuan province in the current period. The Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions believes that, with their talent and enthusiasm, the photographers will capture the golden moments to have the best photographic works about Binh Thuan, contributing to the photo collection "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers", which will take place on October 20.
It is expected that this event will include the following activities: Organizing photo exchanges and creations in Binh Thuan from May 22 to 27, 2023; organizing the photo exhibition "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers" (2nd time) at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Binh Thuan branch; organizing seminars and exchanging photography expertise during the photo exhibition "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers" (2nd time) from October 20 to October 30 in Phan Thiet city and other response activities.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vo Thanh Huy said: Through the exchange and photo creation activities in Binh Thuan within the framework of the second Vietnam International Photography Festival in 2023 in Binh Thuan, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hopes that international, domestic and provincial photographers after days of experiencing and exploring the beauty of people, natural landscapes, culture and tourism in Binh Thuan will create beautiful and satisfactory photo collections to participate in the photo exhibition with the theme "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers", "Binh Thuan - Green Self-Cultivation Association" to achieve the best results.
The whole province of Binh Thuan currently has 74 historical - cultural relics and scenic spots that have been ranked; more than 50 traditional cultural festivals of ethnic communities; 04 intangible cultural heritages included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism... Along with that are the unique cultural and artistic features of the Cham ethnic people living here. Therefore, this is always the place chosen by photographers to create.
