Secretary of An Giang Provincial Youth Union Phan Duy Bang said that in response to the Month of Action for Children in 2025, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union Council will continue to promote the effectiveness of previous activities and develop new activities, such as: Building playgrounds, red scarf houses, equipping swimming pools; improving digital and foreign language skills; equipping skills to prevent abuse, accidents and injuries, popularizing swimming, and intellectual playgrounds for children... The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will summarize and award the 21st Children's Storytelling Contest in 2025, with the theme "Pages of books I love". The contest has 7 units, gathering children from 3 to 11 years old, who have participated in the district-level contest in 2025, divided into 2 levels: Kindergarten and primary school. The units must go through 3 rounds of competition, including: Introducing the team, telling stories, and talent. Candidates brought touching, humane stories, from Vietnamese fairy tales, heroic stories in national history, to examples of overcoming difficulties in studying and training.
Organize playground for children
In addition to activities organized by schools and organizations, so that the summer vacation does not become a "third semester", families have proactively organized activities that are suitable for their family conditions and their children's abilities and interests. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang (residing in My Xuyen ward, Long Xuyen city) gave her child a 2-week break right after the end of the school year and registered her child for badminton and swimming lessons to improve her health. "I do not force my child to study more subjects, but basically study and play at the same time, helping my child to be comfortable during the summer. At the beginning of summer, I let my child relax and participate in skill training classes. Near the beginning of school, I let my child review knowledge to enter the new school year" - Ms. Hang shared.
Volunteer for the community
In parallel with summer activities, the 2025 Volunteer Summer Campaign will be widely organized by the Youth Union chapters in the province, with many projects and tasks related to the actual needs of each locality and unit. Key programs and campaigns, such as: "Supporting the exam season", "Red Flamboyant", "Green March", "Pink vacation", "Green summer", building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, protecting the environment, volunteering for community life and ensuring social security. According to Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Youth Union Phan Duy Bang, in the 2025 Volunteer Summer Campaign, the Youth Union chapters in the province will coordinate to implement many key youth projects, such as: Donating 1 rural traffic bridge; donating 150 solar lights for the "Lighting up the countryside roads" project; donating 180 sets of solar lights for the "Lighting up the border" project; implementing social security activities; supporting startups, etc.
With the spirit of "Where there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth", the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province promote the spirit of volunteering to participate in socio -economic development, building new rural areas, building civilized urban areas and social security activities, for the life of the community, such as: Supporting young people to start businesses, training and transferring scientific and technical advances in production; building youth routes; visiting and giving gifts to poor young union members, poor and studious students, families with difficult circumstances, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; building houses of Charity and Friendship for union members facing housing difficulties...
“This summer, the Youth Union in Chau Thanh district will focus on mobilizing resources to renovate and build healthy playgrounds for young people, combined with life skills education and social practice skills. At the same time, actively carry out social security projects and tasks, build new rural areas, support start-up capital for young people, plant trees to protect the environment, build youth roads…” - Chau Thanh District Youth Union Secretary Truong Thanh Trung said.
