Realizing that growing Cordyceps does not take up much space and can also produce many types of products that support human health and are popular in the market, Mr. Dieu tried it out. With the knowledge he gained from school, practical experience from previous mushroom growing models and support from local authorities, Mr. Dieu mastered the technological process from seed production, cultivation to processing products from Cordyceps.
To build his own product brand, Mr. Dieu established Vacofarm Agricultural Company Limited (abbreviated as Vacofarm Company), in Hamlet 5, Thanh Duc Commune, Ben Luc District. The mushroom growing factory is fully equipped with sterile rooms, cold rooms, mushroom cultivation rooms, breeding rooms and finished product processing areas along with equipment such as dryers, tea packaging machines, steamers, etc. The 4 breeding rooms ( 50m2 /room) alone have shelves containing thousands of mushroom jars.
With a strict and rigorous production process, cordyceps can be harvested after 3 months of cultivation. To have a regular supply of products, the company plants one batch every 15 days, each batch is about 2,000 pots. Fresh products are sold wholesale for over 2 million VND/kg, retail for 120,000 VND/box. If dried, they are sold for 600,000 VND/30g. The products are mainly sold retail in the domestic market.
Currently, in addition to fresh and dried cordyceps products, Vacofarm Company also researches and produces 14 other products such as bird's nest, wine, etc. to diversify its business products. In 2023, Vacofarm Company will complete the application to register 5 products that meet 4-star OCOP standards: Dried cordyceps mushroom, Fresh cordyceps, Bird's nest stewed with cordyceps, Cordyceps ginseng wine, Herbal detox tea from cordyceps.
Mr. Le Xuan Dieu shared: “In the past, I had difficulty finding a market for products made from Cordyceps. Later, thanks to the trust of customers, the products have gained a foothold in the market. Through testing, the products all meet the quality standards in terms of nutritional indexes and food safety indexes.”
