The defendants involved in gambling activities have been charged and placed under house arrest.

On February 16th, the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced that it had served the decision to prosecute and the order prohibiting departure from their place of residence to 7 defendants for investigation into gambling activities.

The defendants who have been prosecuted and prohibited from leaving their place of residence include Nguyen Hoang Khang (born in 1983, residing in Phu Thanh hamlet, Phu Huu commune); Tran Thi Nhau (born in 1971, residing in Vinh Hung hamlet, Phu Huu commune); Nguyen Thi Thuy Hong (born in 1978, residing in Phu An A hamlet, Chau Phong commune); Nguyen Thi Bi (born in 1979, residing in Vinh Loi hamlet, Phu Huu commune); Nguyen Thi Le (born in 1965, residing in Vinh Loi hamlet, Phu Huu commune); Pham Phu Loc (born in 1993, residing in Vinh Loi hamlet, Phu Huu commune); and Vo Thi Cuc (born in 1978, residing in Vinh Phuoc hamlet, Phu Huu commune).

Earlier, through intelligence gathering, the Phu Huu commune police caught seven individuals red-handed gambling for money at the house of Ms. Vo Thi Cuc (Vinh Phuoc hamlet, Phu Huu commune).

At the scene, the police seized one used deck of playing cards and seven unused decks, over 19.5 million VND in cash, and other related evidence. The suspects admitted to gambling.

Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency is continuing to investigate, clarify, and handle the case according to the provisions of the law.
