'Million dollar' digital cultural space in the ancient capital of Hue comes into operation

On the evening of December 16, the Song platform space in the ancient capital of Hue (located at area A2, Hung Vuong commercial area, Ba Trieu street, Hue city, Thua Thien - Hue) officially opened its doors and started operating.

Platform Living Space is a new, modern culinary , shopping, entertainment, working and art viewing complex with a scale of 4 floors, 1,000m2 wide, invested more than 1 million USD by Nguyen Kim as the investor, started construction in 2017.

The first floor of Song Platform is dedicated to the “Craft Village Association” with workshops for visitors to experience such as: making figurines, creating from wool, folding origami, and folk games such as hopscotch, stone throwing, catching crabs in baskets, volleyball...

The second floor space is reserved for the “Fair”, a place to display, buy and experience products of local brands in many fields such as handicrafts, cuisine, decorations...

On the third floor, visitors can experience the art market and cultural experience space such as the Luc Bo area, where traditional Hue handicrafts are displayed (kite making, incense, conical hats, lanterns, and some traditional handicrafts).

The 4th floor is reserved for the “Art Association” including a digital exhibition space, with works in the exhibition Shadow of Time, organized by Song platform in collaboration with the University of Arts - Hue University.

This is also the first digital art exhibition center in Vietnam combined with ArtStudio created from purely Vietnamese art materials.

The exhibition displays a variety of materials such as lacquer, oil painting, sculpture, ceramics... inspired by the imprint of time on all things, the works materialize the language of the artist's soul, immersing the audience in the ancient beauty...

Honored to be present in this luxurious space, artisan Kim Dinh Quyen, a paper flower artisan from Thanh Tien village, shared: "Making paper flowers is not difficult but it takes a lot of work, the flowers are not cut with scissors but must be cut with chisels and specialized tools. I often think that only old people are willing to do it, while few young people are willing to do it, afraid that this profession will gradually disappear. Thanks to the Song platform opening, my family has a place to introduce paper flowers to many people. Although it has only been opened for trial, unexpectedly in the past few days, many young people have shown great interest in making paper flowers. They make them together and take pictures of each other, which is very fun."

“I am getting ready for the workshop space for making enamel cakes that will be open from morning to afternoon. Making paper flowers and enamel cakes are just two of the many activities at the program,” said artisan Phan Nu Phuoc Hong.

Sharing at the opening event, Mr. Duong Do, founder and CEO of Song platform, said that this project was created not only to satisfy people's enjoyment needs but also to enhance the aesthetics and knowledge of the community.
