VOV.VN - "Cultural space in the homeland of A Phu couple" is the theme of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week of Bac Yen district - a potential tourist land with strong identity in the highlands of Son La, Northwest. Embroidering patterns on fabric is a cultural beauty of the Mong people in the highlands of the Northwest. This is an important step for Mong women to make traditional costumes for themselves and their families, to wear during Tet, festivals... At the cultural week, this beauty was vividly recreated through the performances of contestants who are Mong ethnic people in Bac Yen and Muong La districts (Son La) and Tram Tau and Mu Cang Chai districts ( Yen Bai province).

Ms. Mua Thi Sau, in Suoi Lenh village, Hang Chu commune, Bac Yen, Son La said: This is the traditional beauty of our women, I am very proud to show my experience. Although we are of the same Mong ethnic group, each place has different ways of doing things, this is an opportunity for us women to learn and share with each other...

More than 30 artists and actors from Son La and Yen Bai provinces also competed in the Mong ethnic panpipe dance competition. The performances with vibrant melodies and highland identity have embellished the cultural space in the homeland of A Phu and his wife. Mr. Ho A Giau, from Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province shared: I am very happy to participate in the Mong ethnic identity performance competition today, to preserve the standard Mong ethnic identity so that later, I can pass it on to my children and young people. Cultural spaces, daily life and production activities of the ethnic minorities in the Bac Yen highlands are also recreated at the week, such as Hang Chu wine brewing, Ta Xua tea roasting, along with unique culinary spaces of different regions; Dang and Vi melodies of the Muong ethnic group, Mong ethnic panpipe dance, Thai xoe, Dao ethnic bell dance, etc. Mr. Ho Lao Cang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Yen district, said: This is an opportunity to promote the cultural and spiritual values of the ethnic minorities in the Bac Yen highlands to people and tourists inside and outside the province; contributing to the realization of the Resolution on preserving the cultural identity of the locality. "To preserve the national cultural identity, the Party Committee and the government of Bac Yen district continue to thoroughly implement Resolution No. 20 on preserving the cultural identity of 7 ethnic groups in Bac Yen district; and the agencies, departments, especially the mass organizations of the district continue to propagate and mobilize people to practice a cultural lifestyle according to the criteria set out in the resolution", said Mr. Cang. The Culture, Sports and Tourism Week of Bac Yen district took place from October 14-19, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the district Party Committee and the 60th anniversary of the founding of Bac Yen district, Son La (1964-2024). The activities attracted a large number of people and tourists to experience and promote the cultural colors of ethnic minorities in the highlands of Bac Yen, Son La.
