
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, January 23rd, a cold front is affecting other areas in the Northwest and Central regions of Vietnam. On land, the wind will be northeasterly at level 2-3, and level 3-4 in coastal areas.
Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa are experiencing severe cold weather, with particularly harsh conditions in the mountainous areas of Northern Vietnam. Widespread severe cold weather in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa will continue until the end of today.
The lowest temperatures during this cold spell in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa will range from 10-12 degrees Celsius, with mountainous areas experiencing 6-9 degrees Celsius, and some high mountainous areas dropping below 3 degrees Celsius. The area from Nghe An to Hue City will see temperatures of 13-16 degrees Celsius.
Due to the influence of a cold front, showers are expected from Ha Tinh to Da Nang City, and in the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
