Cold air continues to strengthen, Central region continues to have heavy rain

On November 1, cold air continuously intensified and expanded to affect other places in the North and Central Central regions. The Central region continued to experience heavy rain.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected the Northeast, most of the North Central and some places in the Northwest. The North and Thanh Hoa have had rain. At Bach Long Vi station, there are strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6.

It is forecasted that on November 1, the cold air will continue to strengthen, expanding its influence to other places in the Northwest, then affecting the Central Central region. On land, the northeast wind will be strong at level 2-3, and in coastal areas at level 3.

The influence of cold air combined with disturbances in the east wind zone causes rain in many places in the North, Thanh Hoa and Northern Nghe An .

The North and North Central regions are cold, with the lowest temperature commonly ranging from 18-21°C. In the mountainous regions of the North, some places are cold, with the lowest temperature below 17°C.

At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has strong northeast wind at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough sea, waves 1.5 - 3m high. In the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone), strong northeast wind at level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough sea, waves 2 - 4m high.

On November 1 and 2, Ha Tinh to Da Nang will have heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 200 - 400mm, locally over 700mm. Southern Nghe An and Quang Ngai will have heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 100 - 200mm, with very heavy rain over 300mm in some places. There is a risk of heavy rain over 150mm in 3 hours.

On the night of November 2 and the day of November 3, from Southern Nghe An to Quang Ngai, there will be heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall of 100 - 200mm, locally over 350mm. Heavy rain in the Central region is likely to last until around the night of November 4.

The situation of deep and widespread flooding in Da Nang city is gradually decreasing, flooding in Hue city will continue to decrease rapidly in the next 1-2 days. There is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, urban areas, and residential areas in provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri. There is a high risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on slopes in provinces/cities from Nghe An to Quang Ngai.
