The activity of storm No. 15 in the central East Sea also contributed to the cold air mass spreading deep into the mainland.
Monitoring data shows that the temperature in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces has decreased significantly. In Ho Chi Minh City, the lowest temperature ranges from 19.4 to 22.2 degrees Celsius. Some suburban areas in the North and Northeast of the city such as (Cu Chi, Hoc Mon) recorded 20 degrees Celsius at night and early morning. The city center maintained 21 degrees Celsius, giving a distinctly chilly feeling.

In the Southeast, many places have lower temperatures. Phuoc Long recorded 16.6 degrees Celsius, Ta Lai ( Dong Nai ) 17.5 degrees Celsius. This is a rare low temperature in the region.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, at 8:00 a.m. on November 28, the temperature in Ho Chi Minh City was 22 degrees Celsius, humidity 65%, cloudy, little sunshine and no rain, creating weather conditions that are considered pleasant compared to the average of many years.
The sudden drop in temperature has created rare images in Ho Chi Minh City. On the streets, people have started to use coats, scarves, and sweaters instead of their usual sun protection clothing. Many young people take advantage of wearing cold-weather clothes that are usually only used when traveling .


At outdoor cafes, the number of customers increased significantly. Many people preferred to choose hot drinks, enjoying the cool weather in the morning and late afternoon.
“I have to wear a thick coat to work in the morning. It is not common for Saigon to be chilly early in the morning. Many people in my family find this weather pleasant,” said Nguyen Thi Thao, an office worker in Xuan Hoa ward.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the cold continental high pressure will stabilize in the next few days before weakening. However, from the night of November 30 to December 1, it is likely to strengthen again in an easterly direction.


In the next few days, Ho Chi Minh City and the South will continue to be in the Northwest wind divergence field, so the weather will maintain a state of little rain and intermittent sunshine. The highest temperature during the day is commonly from 29 - 32 degrees Celsius, the lowest humidity is about 49%, and the sun is not too harsh during the day.
The lowest temperature at night and early morning remains chilly. In the East, it is from 19 to 22 degrees Celsius, in some places below 19 degrees Celsius; in the West, it is from 21 to 25 degrees Celsius. Some areas may have light fog in the early morning.
Although the weather is cool, the meteorological agency recommends that people keep their bodies warm at night and early morning, especially children and the elderly, to limit the risk of respiratory diseases due to temperature differences.
