Cold air strengthens, the North has cold weather with rain

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (November 1), in the North there is a cold air mass moving to the South.

It is forecasted that in the afternoon and evening of November 2, cold air will affect the Northeast region. After that, the cold air will continue to strengthen, expanding its influence to the Northwest, North Central and some places in the Central Central region. On land, strong Northeast winds will be at level 2-3, and coastal areas will be at level 3-4.

Due to the influence of strengthening cold air, from the night of November 2-4, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have rain, locally moderate rain.

From the night of November 2 to 4, the weather in the Northeast and Thanh Hoa will turn cold, with some areas in the highlands being very cold. The weather in the Northwest and Nghe An will be cold, with the night of November 3 to 4 turning cold. The lowest temperature will generally be 16 to 19 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the mountains below 15 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi area from the night of November 2-4 will have rain and cold weather; the lowest temperature is commonly 17-19 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of cold air strengthening combined with disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai continues to have widespread heavy rain.

At sea, from the afternoon and night of November 2, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind will gradually increase to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8, rough seas, waves 2-3.5 m high. In the North East Sea, there will be strong Northeast wind of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-5 m high.

Experts warn that cold weather can affect livestock, poultry and the growth and development of crops. Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes. Heavy rain in a short period of time can cause flooding in urban and industrial areas. Strong winds, gusts and large waves at sea can affect the operation of ships and other activities.
