Since May, each month in Cao Bang and Lang Son areas has recorded over 20 rainy days. Along with the impact of many storms, the construction volume of both Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway projects is at about 50%, lower than the requirements.
Now that the weather has become more favorable, hundreds of construction teams at the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway project are focusing on speeding up. Hundreds of tons of materials have been mobilized to the construction site. Machinery, equipment and human resources have also been increased by more than 50%. All efforts are being put into speeding up to make up for the slow progress.
This year there will be a series of highway projects put into operation.
Among the expressway projects under construction, the most difficult ones are those invested by local authorities. Currently, only 5/11 projects are following the set plan with a total length of nearly 290km.
This year has been a difficult year for construction units, due to difficulties in materials, fluctuating prices and especially unfavorable weather. However, with the goal of completing 3,000 km of expressway, the Government and the Ministry of Construction require construction parties to continue to increase machinery and human resources.
The Ministry of Construction and localities affirmed: There will be no delay in the progress of all projects. The two most difficult projects, Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang - Tra Linh, will be put into operation on December 19. Particularly, the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang route will be put into operation for 30km connecting to the center of Lang Son province before the Lunar New Year this year.
