A female tourist from Jiangxi (China) made the hotel manager in Sanya city "half-crying, half-laughing". Although she only stayed in the hotel room for less than half an hour, this tourist caused tens of thousands of yuan in damage to the hotel, Sina reported.
Mr. Hung, the hotel manager in Hai Duong area, Sanya, said that this woman booked a room through an online platform, paid 108 yuan (nearly 400,000 VND) and checked in at 00:55 on October 28. However, after nearly 30 minutes of staying, the female passenger sent a request to cancel the room with the reason of "schedule change".

Not accepted, the guest turned to complaining about “poor environment, poor soundproofing”, then reported to the police and complained to the government hotline.
It was thought to be just a small complaint, but that morning, the hotel discovered something unusual: water from the 2nd floor was flooding the 1st floor lobby.
Video from the scene shows the faucet at the sink was turned on, water spilled all over the floor. Blankets, pillows, and bed sheets were thrown into the shower area, the shower was running, and shower gel and shampoo were spilled on the blankets and pillows.
"Perhaps, the water flowed from 2am until dawn, causing the room to be heavily flooded, the walls and floor were damaged. The initial damage was estimated at nearly 20,000 yuan (about 73 million VND)," said a hotel representative.
The hotel immediately notified the local police, submitted surveillance video and footage of the scene. After receiving the case, the police summoned the female tourist for questioning. After the legal education session, the woman realized her mistake and agreed to compensate the hotel for the entire damage of nearly 30,000 yuan (about 110 million VND).
