The maple forest is attracting many tourists and photographers from all over to come and sightsee and take pictures.
According to Huy Vo (25 years old), a freelance photographer and member of the Vietnam - Khe Sanh Agricultural Tourism Cooperative, at this time, the maple forest is at its most beautiful, and the weather is also favorable for outdoor activities. However, after the recent heavy rain, the water in the hydroelectric lake is still cloudy and not clear.

Since the end of November, many tourists have contacted Huy to learn about the weather, the maple leaves changing color and the services to experience here.
The colorful forest scenery, reflected in the water of the hydroelectric lake, makes many tourists compare it to Europe.

Lanh Lanh (from Quang Tri ) has been to Huong Phung maple forest 3 times, but the female tourist is still stunned by the unique, peaceful beauty here.

The image shared by Ms. Lanh received a lot of interaction on social networks. Ms. Lanh suggested that visitors can sit on a boat, paddle SUP on the hydroelectric lake to see the maple forest or walk through the forest, camp overnight.
The forest has a wild beauty, not yet affected much by tourism services, suitable for those who seek tranquility and want to immerse themselves in nature.
This view only appears for a short time, from December to the end of January. The best time of day to see the forest is at dawn or dusk.
Going deep into the forest, visitors can encounter green lawns, interspersed with streams flowing into the lake..., an ideal place for groups to camp.

Scientifically, the maple tree is also called sau sau or bach giao huong. The trunk of the sau sau is tall, large, straight, the bark is opaque white, with gray spots. So in winter, the scenery here looks somewhat like the birch forests in some western countries.

According to Mr. Huy’s experience, the end of the year is the time when Quang Tri often has rain and cold weather. Tourists should follow the weather forecast and choose dry, sunny days for a smooth and safe trip.
This area is still very wild and has not developed many tourist services. Therefore, visitors from far away should find tour guides or local people to ask for directions, book tours...

Tourists can combine their schedule to explore Huong Phung and Khe Sanh, experience the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail, and enjoy the cuisine of the Van Kieu people.
With a 2-day trip, visitors will experience agricultural tourism in Khe Sanh, go to the maple forest, camp, hunt clouds in the wind power field... The cost of a day tour is from 650,000 VND, and 2 days 1 night is from 1,350,000 VND.

Fascinated by the sea of clouds on the 'roof' of Quang Tri With an altitude of more than 1,700m, Pa Thien and Voi Mep are two mountain peaks close to each other, considered the "roof" of Quang Tri province, with beautiful natural scenery, a great place to hunt clouds.
