After a short break at the hotel, at 5:00 p.m. on December 1, U22 Vietnam had their first training session in Bangkok (Thailand), preparing for the opening match of Group B, men's football SEA Games.
According to the records, the players' spirit is very good. Coach Kim Sang Sik requires the whole team to focus on each match, because any mistake will be paid dearly. According to the Regulations, only the team that tops the table will have a direct ticket to the semi-finals of SEA Games 33.

Talking about the preparation of U22 Vietnam, Khuat Van Khang said: “We have a week of training in Vung Tau. Coach Kim Sang Sik mainly let the team practice tactics. Before going to Thailand, the head coach eliminated 5 players to finalize the list.
I think that in the initial list of 28 players, everyone deserves to participate in the SEA Games, but according to the tournament regulations, only 23 players can be registered. When we are here, everyone must try hard to meet the expectations of the coach as well as the fans of the country."

According to Van Khang, U22 Vietnam needs to improve their ability to connect and finish. These are issues that coach Kim Sang Sik has been training his players for a long time.
Personally, Van Khang believes that he will get better results than the previous SEA Games in Cambodia: “I attended the previous SEA Games but the results were not as expected. With this SEA Games, we are determined to achieve the best results. I think it is pressure but also motivation for my teammates to advise and try to achieve the best results.”

Regarding the match schedule, after the match against U22 Laos (December 3), U22 Vietnam will have 8 days of rest before the match against U22 Malaysia (December 11). Van Khang assessed that this match schedule is similar to V-League, helping the whole team have time to recover their strength.
Evaluating the opponent in the opening match, the captain of U22 Vietnam emphasized: "U22 Laos played very well, with many players playing in the national team. In football, nothing can be predicted, but certainly U22 Vietnam will do their best to win."
