Vinh Long Industrial Promotion: Diversifying activities, aiming for real effectiveness

Promotion activities suitable to the needs of production facilities

The Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion of Vinh Long province (Center) said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the province (including Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh previously) has implemented 11 projects to support the application of advanced machinery and equipment with a budget of 1.81 billion VND and organized 2 vocational training classes for rural workers.

After the merger of the province, the Center proactively coordinated with relevant units, especially the Economic Department, the Economic - Infrastructure and Urban Department at the commune level, to review, survey needs, and develop industrial promotion projects suitable for each locality.

The Center has advised the Department of Industry and Trade to develop a plan to implement local industrial promotion work in 2025 with a total support budget of over VND 8.4 billion; a plan to implement the project to enhance the value chain of the red ceramic production industry, with a support budget of VND 1.27 billion; and a plan to implement the project to support brand building and development, with a budget of VND 196 million.

At the same time, advise the Department to submit to the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion projects and plans to implement the national pilot industrial promotion project in 2025 with a total expected support budget of 2.7 billion VND.

Support activities are implemented in a diverse range of content, aiming at real effectiveness and in accordance with the needs of enterprises and production facilities. At the same time, propaganda and guidance for enterprises and production facilities on support mechanisms and policies are carried out promptly, contributing to maintaining the effectiveness of industrial promotion activities and promoting local socio-economic development.

Regarding the selection of outstanding rural industrial products, based on the results of the provincial and southern region selections in 2024, the Center has prepared and completed the profiles of rural industrial establishments participating in the national selection. As a result, the whole province has 8 products and product sets that have achieved the title of outstanding rural industrial products at the national level in 2025.

Maximizing the potential of rural industry

The Center assessed that the above activities clearly demonstrated the interest and efforts of the industry and trade sector of Vinh Long province in promoting the effectiveness of industrial promotion programs, opening up many opportunities for rural industrial production establishments to improve production and business capacity, increase competitiveness and expand investment cooperation and linkages.

In the coming period, the opportunity for rural industrial development in Vinh Long is huge. The province has a large area, rich raw material resources, abundant labor force, and a variety of traditional industries, creating favorable conditions for the formation of many key industries, attracting investment and strengthening links in the production - consumption chain, aiming to build a strong regional brand.

After the merger, the two-level government was streamlined, helping to increase concentration in direction and reduce duplication in implementation. Along with that, the digital transformation and e-commerce process is opening up great opportunities for rural industrial products to access domestic and foreign markets. This is a favorable condition for establishments to apply new technology, improve production capacity, contribute to socio-economic development and build modern and sustainable new rural areas.

To further improve the quality of industrial promotion work, Vinh Long will focus on perfecting the organizational structure, unifying the coordination process between agencies and units from the province to the grassroots, ensuring that industrial promotion activities are implemented smoothly, synchronously and effectively. This not only helps to shorten the focal points, reduce overlap, but also increases the ability to focus on direction, quickly resolve problems arising during the project implementation process.

At the same time, the province will strengthen training and professional development for industrial extension staff, especially in new communes after the merger, to improve professional capacity, management skills and provide timely support to rural industrial establishments.

In addition, Vinh Long also builds a mechanism to encourage regional linkages, prioritizing the development of traditional industries, technology innovation projects, cleaner and sustainable production models. Information and propaganda work will be expanded to new rural communes and craft villages, combined with trade promotion, e-commerce and tourism to increase product value, expand consumer markets and maximize local potential and advantages.

In addition, surveys and inspections at the grassroots level will be carried out regularly to grasp needs, promptly remove difficulties, ensure transparency, publicity and improve the effectiveness of industrial promotion projects.

With synchronous solutions and clear orientation, Vinh Long hopes to exploit the full potential of rural industry, improve the competitiveness of production facilities, and at the same time actively contribute to the process of building new rural areas and socio-economic development of the province.
