On January 20th, the inter-agency inspection team on food safety for the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) and the 2026 spring festival season inspected and monitored compliance with food safety regulations at several food processing and trading establishments dealing with agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products in Tran Hung Dao and Tran Lam wards. The inspection focused on high-risk product groups that are consumed in large quantities during Tet and the festival season, such as meat and processed meat products, vegetables, and fruits.

The team inspected the implementation of regulations and conditions ensuring food safety, labeling, advertising; origin and source, etc. They also conducted rapid tests and collected samples for testing food safety indicators as required. Furthermore, they coordinated the dissemination of regulations on hygiene conditions of facilities, equipment, and tools in the production, processing, and trading of food to businesses involved in the processing and trading of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products.

Food safety inspection and monitoring activities are part of the plan to ensure food quality and safety during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) and the spring festival season of 2026. This aims to strengthen the leadership and guidance role of state management agencies and specialized agencies on food safety; mobilize the participation of all levels, sectors, organizations, individuals involved in food production and business, and consumers in ensuring food safety and controlling and promptly preventing the production and sale of counterfeit and substandard food, and preventing food poisoning during the Tet holiday and spring festival.
