According to a report from Dong Xoai ward, there are currently 264 food production and business establishments in the ward. These include 22 collective kitchens, 43 food service establishments, and 117 street food vendors. The majority of these food production and business establishments are small-scale, with low service capacity, and have basic infrastructure, equipment, and processing tools.
To ensure food safety during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) and the Spring Festival season of 2026, the ward has intensified the dissemination of knowledge about food safety, prevention of food poisoning, and foodborne infectious diseases to business owners, those directly involved in food processing, and food consumers. This has contributed to raising awareness among food producers, businesses, and consumers in the area.

Following the working session, the inter-agency inspection team from the province and the leaders of Dong Xoai ward conducted an on-site inspection at Bach Hoa Xanh Binh Phuoc store No. 28. The results showed that the establishment complied quite well with regulations related to food safety. Food samples tested for borax also yielded negative results.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet stated: During the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival season of 2026, the demand for food will increase significantly. Therefore, food safety inspection and supervision will be implemented rigorously from the provincial level down to the commune and ward levels to prevent the risk of food poisoning and ensure the rights and health of consumers.
According to the plan, the delegation will inspect food safety work in 9 communes and wards in the province, including: Dong Xoai, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long, Tan Khai, Xuan Loc, Trang Bom, Nhon Trach, Tran Bien, and Hung Thinh. The inspection targets include food production, processing, and trading establishments, food service establishments, collective kitchens, and businesses selling foods commonly consumed during Tet and other festivals such as: cakes, jams, candies, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, meat and meat products, seafood, and ready-made foods…
During the inspection, in addition to detecting and strictly handling violations of food safety regulations, the inspection team will guide establishments in rectifying shortcomings, and disseminate relevant food safety laws and regulations to ensure strict compliance and prevent regrettable violations.
