Joining the Deputy Minister's delegation were Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Hong Minh and representatives of several specialized departments of the Vietnam Sports Administration.
The inspection trip aims to grasp the training situation, promptly encourage the spirit of coaches and athletes, and review professional and logistical work, ensuring the best conditions for the teams before the largest sports event in Southeast Asia.
The Deputy Minister requested that the teams maintain their normal training schedule so as not to affect their professional plans. At each team, the Deputy Minister directly discussed with the coaching staff and experts, listened to reports from the National Center for Training of High-Level Athletes, the Department of Sports and Physical Training, and the thoughts and aspirations of the athletes to have timely instructions and adjustments.
Care and encourage each athlete
Visiting the national Pencak Silat team, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong kindly inquired about the injury of martial artist Nguyen Duy Tuyen and discussed the treatment plan with the medical team. The Deputy Minister emphasized: “Medal achievements are very valuable, but cannot be exchanged at any price. The safety and health of athletes must always be put first.”

According to the medical department, Duy Tuyen had torn his knee cartilage before but was still able to compete at the 33rd SEA Games. After the Games, he will undergo surgery to completely treat it. The Deputy Minister also hopes that the two key players Nguyen Duy Tuyen and Nguyen Tan Sang - the current SEA Games champion will continue to play the leading role, leading the young athletes to achieve high results.
The Deputy Minister further analyzed: “Pencak Silat is the national martial art of Indonesia, Vietnam’s strongest opponent. However, this SEA Games will take place on a neutral field, so the pressure will be significantly reduced. Athletes should stay calm and confident to compete for the best results.”

At the Sepak Takraw team's training ground, the Deputy Minister shared that the team will face a lot of pressure when competing in Thailand - where Sepak Takraw is the most developed in the region. He noted that the coaching staff must pay special attention to tactical factors and develop flexible plans to take the initiative and avoid being caught up in the opponent's playing style.
"I wish the whole team to compete confidently and unitedly, and to successfully complete the set goals at SEA Games 33," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Believe in the success of the teams
On the sunny Athletics field, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong expressed his joy at witnessing the athletes' enthusiastic and disciplined training spirit. He highly appreciated the efforts to rejuvenate the team and the smooth coordination between veteran athletes and the next generation.
The Deputy Minister hoped that the coaching team would take advantage of their experience from previous SEA Games to develop a scientific curriculum, maximizing the youth and competitive experience of veteran athletes. He expressed his hope that Vietnamese Athletics would make a breakthrough and achieve more outstanding results than the previous Games.
In response, the whole team shouted the slogan in unison to show their determination to achieve the best results at SEA Games 33.

At the Shooting team, the Deputy Minister met with Mongolian expert Byambajav Altantsetseg and encouraged shooters Pham Quang Huy, Trinh Thu Vinh and his teammates. The Deputy Minister was happy to hear Pham Quang Huy set a goal of winning many gold medals and advised him and the team to stay calm and focused to realize the goal.
With positive signals from pre-SEA Games tournaments, the Deputy Minister believes that the Vietnamese Shooting team will complete the target of winning 7 gold medals next December.
Next, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong visited the Archery, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Judo and Karate teams. He acknowledged the efforts of the coaches, experts and athletes, and emphasized that this is an important sprint stage, requiring a high level of concentration.
The Deputy Minister requested the National Center for Training of High-Level Athletes to ensure adequate nutrition, rest, and physical recovery after each training session; create a comfortable living environment, helping athletes have a steady and confident mindset entering the Games.
At the end of the inspection, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hoped that each athlete would consider the honor of wearing the national flag as the greatest source of strength. They would try their best to bring home the joy of victory with the whole team, responding to the expectations of fans and people across the country.
