Colonel Nguyen Van Han inspected forest fire prevention and fighting work at Phu Quoc National Park.
On April 15, Colonel Nguyen Van Han - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police and the Steering Committee for Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue of Phu Quoc City inspected forest fire prevention and fighting work at Phu Quoc National Park.
Field inspections show that forest fire prevention and fighting work here is quite good. However, equipment for forest management and protection, forest fire prevention and fighting is still lacking and does not meet the requirements of the task.
Currently, the forest fire prevention and fighting force of Phu Quoc National Park has 108 members, deployed to set up 7 camps; contracted 20 people to carry out patrolling, forest fire prevention and fighting and anti-deforestation work.
In key forest areas, 8 fire watchtowers, 83 wells and 90 water tanks along with many vehicles and equipment have been arranged. The park organizes plowing of grass, plowing of firebreaks and vegetation treatment with a total area of over 410 hectares...
Colonel Nguyen Van Han suggested that Phu Quoc National Park soon issue a document recommending the People's Committee of Kien Giang province to invest in flycams to serve the work of forest protection management, fire prevention and fighting inspection...
