The inter-agency task force conducted on-site inspections at fishing ports, storm shelters, shipbuilding and repair facilities, private fishing ports, and seafood unloading points; focusing on assessing fishermen's compliance with regulations on painting, marking, and registering fishing vessels; the management of vessels under 6 meters, vessels not meeting fishing requirements, and the operational status of private fishing docks and spontaneous seafood unloading points.
Through inspection, the working group assessed that localities and border guard posts had proactively and comprehensively implemented tasks and solutions to combat IUU fishing according to their functions and authority. They also requested continued strict management of fishing fleets, resolutely preventing fishing vessels with improperly painted or marked license plates from departing; strengthening supervision and strictly handling shipbuilding facilities, seafood purchasing businesses, and fishing vessels violating IUU regulations; and promoting awareness among fishermen to ensure compliance.
According to the plan, on May 14th and 15th, the inter-agency task force will continue its inspection in Sa Huynh ward and the Ly Son special economic zone.
