Check all accommodation facilities to ensure safety for tourists

In the dispatch, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Directors of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Departments of Tourism in the following provinces/cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Hanoi to proactively monitor the situation and developments of the storm, closely coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities in the area to review and inspect all tourist accommodation establishments, tourist attractions, especially coastal areas, islands, and areas at risk of landslides and flash floods.

Coordinate the organization of propaganda and evacuation of tourists to safe places; count, inform, and guide boats and means of tourism activities at sea to know not to enter or exit dangerous areas or to return to safe shelters.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested the directors of the above departments to coordinate in developing specific storm and flood response plans, implementing evacuation and shelter measures, and ensuring the safety of tourists, especially international tourists.

Strengthen inspection, review, and implementation of plans to ensure safety for people and property at cultural and sports institutions, historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, tourist areas and spots in the area. Based on the actual situation and the potential impact of storms and floods, proactively decide or advise competent authorities to direct the temporary suspension of recreational, entertainment, and tourism activities in the locality.

Press, radio and television agencies and grassroots information agencies update storm forecasts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting to promptly inform people to proactively prevent and respond, especially to heavy rains, floods, landslides, and flash floods that may occur, and to evacuate people in dangerous areas at risk of flash floods and landslides to safe places.

Heads of units under the ministry in the above localities closely monitor forecast information and developments of storms, rains and floods to deploy response plans, ensure safety for people and property managed by the unit, and activities organized by the unit; recommend civil servants, public employees and workers to limit going out during storms and heavy rains and floods.

In the dispatch, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism also directed the Press Department, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information and the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information to direct press, media and grassroots information agencies nationwide to organize propaganda, broadcast and report timely information on forecasts and warnings about storm developments, and direct storm response so that local authorities at all levels and people can monitor and update regularly. In particular, special attention is paid to reporting news articles warning people about the risk of floods, landslides and disease prevention that may arise due to floods and inundation.
