Previously, many tourists visiting the Hue Imperial Citadel reported that several new wooden houses had sprung up within the grounds of the Ministry of Interior's historical site. These houses were built with solid foundations, a raised base of about 0.5m, and sturdy tiled roofs.

Currently, there are four completed traditional houses within the grounds of the Ministry of Interior historical site, ranging in size from nearly 100m2 to approximately 180m2. In addition, there are several corridors and structures under construction.

According to the leaders of the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center, these structures will be erected around mid-2025. The construction of these traditional houses will enhance the spatial value of the area around the Ministry of Interior, boost the development of the night-time economy, promote tourism linked to heritage and cultural industries, and create more high-quality spaces for tourists.

However, the unit made some shortcomings in the implementation of the project "Cultural and Festival Experience Space at the Imperial Palace Relic Site". The Center is currently completing the procedures to submit to the relevant authorities in accordance with current regulations.

The Ministry of Interior was built during the reign of Emperor Minh Mạng, initially located within the Forbidden City, and later moved to its current location.

The Ministry of Interior comprises numerous buildings constructed on a site covering approximately 20,000 square meters. This was where the royal artifacts of the king and the royal family were crafted and stored.

After 1945, the Ministry of Interior building was repurposed for various uses, including for a long period as the headquarters of the National School of Music, and later the Hue University of Arts.

Throughout various periods of history, the Ministry of Interior building has almost no original historical structures remaining. Currently, within the historical site's grounds, only a two-story building with French architecture, constructed in the early 1900s, remains.
