Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province SomKhit Vien signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation directions between Kien Giang and Koh Kong provinces in various fields in the coming years.
On the morning of December 28, in Kien Giang, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province and the City Hall of Koh Kong province (Cambodia) co-organized a conference to review the 5-year cooperation (2018-2022) between Kien Giang province and Koh Kong province and set out the direction for cooperation in the next phase.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee and Dr. SomKhit Vien - Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province co-chaired the conference.
Based on the cooperation document between Kien Giang and Koh Kong provinces signed on September 13, 2018, over the past 5 years, Team K92 (Kien Giang Provincial Military Command) has collected the remains of 29 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Koh Kong province.
The two provinces of Kien Giang and Koh Kong promote propaganda, mobilization and encouragement activities for businesses to exchange trade, invest in production and business facilities, and introduce the province's products.
The Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Kien Giang province organized a delegation to participate in the Sea Festival held in Koh Kong province with 5 participating businesses to introduce and promote Kien Giang tourism, thereby connecting with Cambodian businesses to develop a tourism route connecting Kien Giang with Cambodia.
Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan presented gifts to Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province SomKhit Vien.
Representatives of Kien Giang Provincial Military Command presented gifts to the armed forces of Koh Kong province.
The tourism industry of the two provinces has been actively interested in introducing, promoting tourism information, connecting tours, especially the R10 Vietnam - Cambodia - Thailand tourist route. The relevant parties have met and signed a memorandum of understanding to promote and connect tours through the R10 route.
The two provinces of Kien Giang and Koh Kong have stepped up propaganda and education work for fishermen to comply with the provisions of the Fisheries Law.
The cultural sector, youth union, and Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of the two provinces always actively participate in delegation exchange activities of provincial leaders on the occasion of visiting and greeting each other during the New Year.
At the conference, Kien Giang and Koh Kong agreed to continue cooperation in four areas: First, cooperation in crime prevention and control. Second, cooperation in searching for, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia. Third, cooperation in the economic field. Fourth, cooperation in the fields of culture, society, education, youth, and people-to-people diplomacy.
