In the first competition of Miss Universe 2024 called "Voice For Change", Ky Duyen spoke up about the information that she had not graduated from university. "According to many studies by organizations, students face many psychological problems such as anxiety disorders and depression. Therefore, I hope my project and personal story will bring solutions to help you overcome the same problems I encountered," Ky Duyen added.
The mistakes of her youth tormented Ky Duyen, who could not forgive herself. After winning Miss Universe Vietnam, she wanted to complete the unfinished things of the past.
The news that Ky Duyen had not graduated from university appeared in July, when the beauty registered for the Miss Universe Vietnam contest. At that time, speaking with Tri Thuc - Znews, a representative of the Foreign Trade University (Ha Noi) confirmed that after being crowned Miss Vietnam 2014, Ky Duyen did not continue her regular studies in the Foreign Economics major. She switched to the work-study program but did not complete it.
At Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, the organizers require contestants to have a high school diploma in Vietnam or an equivalent diploma abroad. The requirement of a college or university degree is not included in the bullet point.
Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, born in 1996, will compete at Miss Universe in Mexico in November. This season has a high competition rate with 130 contestants, the format has changed: calling the top 30 - top 12 - top 5 and announcing the winner. This year's candidates are very strong, for example, representatives from Peru, Canada, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic are being evaluated most comprehensively by specialized websites.
