On the evening of September 22nd, in Jakarta, in a solemn, friendly, and warm atmosphere, the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia solemnly celebrated the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2nd, 1945 - September 2nd, 2025) and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Indonesia (1955-2025).
The commemoration ceremony was presided over by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia, Ta Van Thong, and was attended by more than 350 guests, including the Chairman of the Indonesian Local Delegates Council (Senate), Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin; the Deputy Minister of Industry of Indonesia, Faisol Riza; representatives from local government and parliamentary agencies; ambassadors and heads of international organizations; businesses from both countries; and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Indonesia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Ta Van Thong reviewed the profound historical significance of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, highlighting Vietnam's great achievements over the past 80 years.
From a country facing food shortages, Vietnam has become a leading exporter of rice, coffee, and cashew nuts in the world ; a reliable and responsible partner of the international community; and actively integrates and participates deeply in global supply chains by signing 17 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with various countries and territories.

Regarding Vietnam-Indonesia relations, Ambassador Ta Van Thong emphasized that 2025 marks an important milestone in bilateral relations as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, affirming that relations between the two countries have never been better than they are now.
Over the past seven decades, building on the solid foundation laid by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno, the two countries have continuously strengthened their friendship and comprehensive cooperation in all fields—politics, defense, economics, culture, people-to-people exchanges, and more. Recently, in March 2025, the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Indonesian Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza expressed his delight at Vietnam's remarkable development achievements, highlighting the significance of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He emphasized that the upcoming state visit to Indonesia by General Secretary To Lam in early 2025 is a particularly significant event, opening up new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
At the ceremony, guests toured an exhibition of photographs commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, themed "Vietnam-Indonesia: 70 Years of Strong Partnership," enjoyed performances of traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, and savored the flavors of Vietnamese cuisine through traditional dishes.
