The People's Committee of Gia Lai province has approved the planning task for the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan of the Ghenh Rang - Vung Chua International Beach Resort Urban Area . The planning area covers the Quy Nhon Nam, Quy Nhon Bac, and Quy Nhon Tay wards (formerly part of Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province), bordering the East Sea, with a total area of nearly 2,900 hectares.
According to the initial plan, the project is expected to accommodate a population of approximately 40,000 people; an average of over 6,900 tourists per day, and potentially exceeding 17,200 visitors during peak season (Photo: Nguyen Dung).

The entire project planning area is divided into two main sub-areas: Vung Chua Mountain and Xuan Van - Quy Hoa.

The Vung Chua mountain area is planned for the development of mountainside resorts, sports centers, golf courses , and service facilities.

The winding concrete road leading up to Vung Chua mountain is a familiar route for those who love mountain climbing and want to admire Quy Nhon from above.

In 2025, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, former Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee and now Deputy Prime Minister (second from the left), along with local leaders, surveyed Vung Chua Mountain with the aim of studying the planning of this area into a multi-functional complex.

The Quy Hoa - Xuan Van area is planned to develop into a coastal accommodation, entertainment, and tourism service complex, combined with the preservation of existing historical and religious structures. Notably, the plan also mentions transportation options for tourism such as flying taxis and seaplanes.

The plan includes expanding National Highway 1D, constructing connecting routes between Quy Hoa - Vung Chua - Long Van, and a road leading up the mountain for sightseeing and recreation.
