Following the historic floods at the end of 2025, the main road connecting the center of Da Nang city to the western highland communes, already riddled with potholes, has become even more bumpy and difficult to travel on. "Young jackfruit sent down / Flying fish sent up," after traveling a long distance to La Ee, in addition to products imbued with the spirit of spring and Tet from the lowlands, the soldiers also brought a lot of dried fish as gifts. Welcoming the delegation on the mountaintop, representatives of the Party committee, government, and people of the commune could not hide their joy and excitement.

Representatives from the Command Board of Zone 1-Cam Le and the Party Committee and government of La Ee commune signed a twinning program.

After discussions and meetings, the Party Committee and Command of Zone 1 - Cam Le and the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of La Ee commune agreed that in the coming time, they will regularly exchange and share experiences in the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system; the work of managing and administering the State in the tasks of economic, cultural, and social development, ensuring national defense and security; and promoting political and ideological education and dissemination of laws to cadres, soldiers, civil servants, and all strata of the people.

The Party Committee and Command of Zone 1 - Cam Le will actively support the Party Committee and government of La Ee commune in terms of expertise and professional skills in local defense and military affairs , building a comprehensive national defense posture linked to a people's security posture and a solid defense zone. They will proactively prevent and counter the "peaceful evolution" and subversive plots of hostile forces. They will strengthen measures to ensure political security and social order in the locality; and build a strong, comprehensive, regular, elite, and combat-ready local armed force.

Comrade Nguyen Dang Chuong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of La Ee commune, said: “La Ee is a border commune with many ethnic groups living together. In recent years, thanks to the attention and investment from the Party, the State, and the local Party committee and government, the lives of the people here have changed significantly in all aspects. However, due to the large area, distance from the city center, difficult transportation, susceptibility to natural disasters and incidents; harsh climate and weather; hilly terrain; and underdeveloped industry and services… the poverty rate in the locality remains quite high. In the initial phase of implementing the two-tiered local government, besides the basic advantages, La Ee also faced many difficulties and challenges, especially in the field of local defense and military affairs. Implementing the signed program, with the support and cooperation of the Party Committee and the Command of the 1st Regional Defense Zone - Cam Le, we are very reassured and excited.”

Faced with local challenges, in 2026, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 1 - Cam Le will focus on supporting and assisting La Ee to gradually improve the quality of training and exercises, ensuring 100% compliance; effectively carrying out military recruitment, military enrollment, and policies for the welfare of military families; strictly maintaining combat readiness and a firm grasp of the local area; proactively responding to and mitigating the consequences of natural disasters and search and rescue operations; ensuring security and safety on movement routes when forces are performing their duties; and promoting the leadership role of local Party committees and authorities in advising and organizing the implementation of local defense and military tasks.

Colonel Le Tat Quang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Command of Military Region 1 - Cam Le, affirmed: “Based on its functions and duties, the unit will proactively coordinate with the Party Committee and the government of La Ee commune to effectively carry out the task of building a strong political foundation; conduct effective mass mobilization work, help people eradicate hunger and poverty, assist the locality with difficulties and obstacles, participate in rescue and relief efforts, prevent and overcome the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics; actively implement the Army's rear-area support policy, care for and assist families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, poor households, and vulnerable people.”

At the end of the year, despite the busy schedule, after the signing ceremony of the twinning program, the soldiers still took the time to visit, extend New Year greetings, and give gifts to wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, meritorious individuals, and poor households in La Ee. Meeting with local young men preparing to enlist, Lieutenant Colonel Do Khac Khoa, Deputy Political Commissar of the Command of Military Region 1 - Cam Le, encouraged them: “The army is a great school, an ideal environment for young people to contribute, train, and grow. You are outstanding sons and daughters, the pride of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of La Ee commune. Therefore, after enlisting, you must quickly integrate and get used to the new environment; always be united, love and help each other, and be determined to successfully complete all assigned tasks.”

In the heartwarming cold of the border region of our country, the firm handshakes, heartfelt gifts, and the solidarity and sharing shown by the officers and soldiers of the Command Post of Zone 1 - Cam Le to the La Ee people warmed everyone's hearts and moved them deeply.
