Lai Châu has a new Provincial Police Chief.

On the morning of May 22nd, the Lai Chau Provincial Police held a ceremony to announce and publicize the decision of the Minister of Public Security regarding personnel matters.

Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Van Tuyen presented the decision and offered flowers to congratulate the new Director of Lai Chau Public Security.

At the ceremony, a representative from the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Public Security announced the decision of the Minister of Public Security to transfer and appoint Colonel Bui Quyet Toan, born in 1975, Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Police, to take up the position of Director of Lai Chau Provincial Police.

Speaking at the ceremony, Central Committee member and Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Van Tuyen affirmed that Colonel Bui Quyet Toan rose through the ranks from the grassroots, with 8 years of leadership experience at the departmental level, and 8 years as Deputy Director of the Public Security Department of Nam Dinh province (formerly), and after the merger, as Deputy Director of the Public Security Department of Ninh Binh province.

Leaders of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee presented flowers to congratulate the new Director of Public Security.

Immediately after the ceremony, the Director of Lai Chau Provincial Police needs to proceed with the handover and acceptance of duties; immediately begin work, coordinate with local authorities and the leadership of Lai Chau Provincial Police to effectively perform functions and duties and excellently complete assigned tasks. Strictly maintain the working regulations of the Provincial Police Party Committee, and build a regular, elite, and modern People's Police force.

In his acceptance speech, Colonel Bui Quyet Toan, the new Director of the Lai Chau Provincial Police, thanked the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for their trust in assigning him this new responsibility. He affirmed that he, together with the Standing Committee of the Lai Chau Provincial Police, will lead the successful implementation of all assigned tasks, building a professional, elite, and modern Lai Chau Provincial Police force, contributing to the overall development of Lai Chau province.

The members of the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department's Board of Directors presented flowers to congratulate the new Director.

Previously, the Minister of Public Security decided to transfer Major General Nguyen Viet Giang, Director of the Lai Chau Provincial Police, to take up the position of Director of the Department of Movement for National Security Protection, effective May 22nd.

The Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security also decided to appoint Major General Nguyen Viet Giang to the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Movement for National Security Protection for the term 2025-2030.
