In the unique and challenging working conditions of border areas, maintaining a reading habit not only contributes to improving professional knowledge but also helps cultivate political fortitude and the qualities of a soldier. However, with the rapid development of technology, the approach to knowledge and reading habits are also undergoing many changes.
The seminar was organized to create a forum for exchanging and evaluating the current state of reading culture within the armed forces, while clarifying the opportunities and challenges posed in the context of digital transformation. Through this, officers and soldiers had the opportunity to share experiences in utilizing traditional and digital resources, contributing to improved self-study and research effectiveness. During the program, delegates watched a thematic video on reading culture in the digital age and participated in lively discussions. Representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Library, the Border Guard Command, and related units, along with students, provided in-depth analysis of the role of books in raising awareness and cultivating political fortitude among officers and soldiers. In addition, many opinions pointed out the advantages and disadvantages arising from the information explosion, shared effective reading skills, and proposed solutions to promote reading culture in line with the requirements of the new era.
