The Lai Chau Tourism - Culture Week and Marathon 2025 is being held in the context of Lai Chau continuing to effectively implement Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated February 17, 2021, of the Provincial Party Committee on preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups in conjunction with tourism development. This is also an activity aimed at striving to achieve the target of increasing tourist arrivals in 2025, promoting mass sports movements, especially marathon running.
Accordingly, the Lai Chau Tourism - Culture Week and Marathon 2025 will include many diverse activities, taking place at the Lai Chau Provincial People's Square, the Provincial Cultural Conference Center, and several central areas of the city.
On November 28th, the opening ceremony was held from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM at People's Square, marking the beginning of a large-scale tourism, cultural, and sports event series in the province.

The Vietnam-China cultural exchange program, combined with a performance of traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Lai Chau, took place at People's Square, contributing to honoring cultural beauty and strengthening friendly exchanges.
On November 30th, the 2nd Lai Chau Marathon will be held from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM, promising to attract a large number of professional and amateur athletes. The closing ceremony will take place at 3:00 PM at the Provincial Cultural Conference Center.
Alongside the main activities, a series of exhibition spaces were organized throughout the three days. These included a tourism promotion area with 16 booths from the expanded Northwest provinces, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and several tourism units, showcasing publications, maps, and video clips promoting destinations.
The exhibition space showcasing OCOP products, local agricultural products, and specialty products from Yunnan Province (China) and Luang Prabang Province (Laos) features 32 booths, contributing to a vibrant picture of local and regional culture and economy.
Notably, the Lai Chau Ethnic Culture Space, covering 500m², showcases the culture of 13 ethnic groups living in the province. A 400m² exhibition space dedicated to tea, ginseng, and orchids is organized by the Lai Chau Ginseng Association. An exhibition of beautiful tourism photos featuring 100-200 works is also held here for visitors. In addition, the ethnic cuisine and street food area, with a total of 30 stalls, will introduce unique traditional dishes, creating a rich experience for locals and tourists.
With its large scale, rich content, and distinct cultural and sporting features, the 2nd Lai Chau Tourism - Culture Week and Marathon in 2025 promises to strongly promote the image of Lai Chau as a region rich in identity, friendly, and full of potential to a wide range of tourists.
