The scale of metro lines is implemented according to the mechanism of Resolution 188 - Graphics: T.DAT
On May 8, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee decided to establish a Steering Committee for the development of the Ho Chi Minh City urban railway network (metro).
According to the decision, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen is the head of the Steering Committee; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc is the standing deputy head of the committee.
Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Phuoc Loc.

Building 355km of metro: Ho Chi Minh City implements the motto of clear people, clear work
Based on the special policy mechanisms approved by the National Assembly , Ho Chi Minh City has issued a plan to simultaneously invest and complete 7 metro lines with a total length of 355km within 10 years (from now until 2035). The total preliminary investment for this phase is about 40.2 billion USD.
The plan has identified specific tasks for each unit with 7 work groups and more than 60 tasks following the 6 clear principles: "Clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear product, clear authority".
Regarding progress, the city will start construction of metro project 2 in December 2025, and the remaining 6 routes will start construction in phase 2027.
