Lam Dong trains in the use of electronic fishing logs

On the afternoon of November 26, the Department of Fisheries and Sea Islands of Lam Dong province coordinated with TCOMIE Energy Telecommunications Joint Stock Company to organize a training course on electronic fishing logs.

The training course took place on the afternoon of November 26.

Participants of the training course include: Professional units under the Department of Agriculture and Environment, representatives of Thanh Hai Border Guard Station, Phu Hai Border Control Station, Phan Thiet; People's Committees of communes and wards of Phan Thiet, Phu Thuy, Binh Thuan, Tien Thanh and Mui Ne.

At the training session, delegates were introduced and instructed on how to use the website to manage and monitor electronic fishing log information and use electronic fishing log software.

In particular, the Ship Navigation System software is considered a comprehensive digital transformation solution. Thereby, it helps fishermen record and create electronic fishing logs directly using smartphones during the trip, without the need to install additional specialized equipment, significantly saving investment and operating costs.

The training course aims to digitize all fishing activities, ensure traceability and combat IUU fishing. Taking advantage of the available positioning chip on smartphones helps the recorder to perform easily with just operations on the Smartphone device without needing an internet connection. Previously, on November 20, 2025, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to deploy the electronic fishing log system and electronic fishing log (electronic fishing log) in the province.

The plan requires agencies and functional units to use an electronic fishing log system to ensure smooth, synchronous, connected, linked management data, ensuring accuracy, honesty and completeness; updated on the system in real time and near real time according to regulations, serving the management of fishing vessels, port output, and supporting the traceability of exploited aquatic products.

According to regulations, fishing vessels with a length of 12m or more must use an electronic fishing logbook. Ship owners and captains are required to declare their vessels entering and leaving ports, record and create a logbook during the voyage to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting production output.
