This statistical survey is particularly important.

The 2026 National Economic Census (the 7th in Vietnam) is being implemented nationwide. At the launch ceremony on January 7th, Mr. Vo Ngoc Hiep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the 2026 National Economic Census, emphasized: This is a particularly important statistical survey with a wide scope and complex content. Its aim is to collect comprehensive information on production and business establishments, administrative and public service institutions, religious and belief establishments, and cooperatives in the province. The results of the census will serve as an important basis for assessing the current state of the economy, building strategies, plans, and formulating socio-economic development policies for the next phase. Therefore, the Provincial Steering Committee requires all levels, sectors, and all forces participating in the census to strictly adhere to the survey plan, operational procedures, and implementation timeline, ensuring that the collected information is complete, accurate, objective, and consistent.

From the beginning of January 2026, the Provincial Steering Committee has been coordinating with all levels and sectors to strengthen propaganda efforts. This aims to raise awareness of the rights and responsibilities of organizations and individuals in cooperating with and providing information to statistical agencies and statistical investigators. The survey content includes identifying information, production and business sectors, economic types, labor information, assets, and capital sources of the surveyed unit. Furthermore, the survey form clearly shows the results of the surveyed unit's production and business activities, such as products, revenue, costs, profits, and taxes.

Efforts to ensure progress and quality.

According to Mr. Pham Quoc Hung, Head of the Provincial Statistics Department and Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee, as of now, 16 local statistics offices have simultaneously organized training for enumerators, supervisors, and commune-level representatives. Localities have completed the establishment of steering committees. Specifically, 1,285 enumerators have completed the individual production and business establishment enumeration forms in 124 communes, wards, and special zones.

For example, in Phan Thiet ward, Ms. Truong Thi Minh Hang - Head of residential group 34, a member of the ward's Steering Committee, who directly conducted the economic survey in residential group 34, said: "In our residential group, there are nearly 100 businesses, establishments, and households subject to the general economic survey. The surveyors were thoroughly trained in the content, methods, and application of the CAPI software."

The provincial statistics chief added that the guidance from higher authorities, along with the timely issuance of documents and operational guidelines, facilitated the timely implementation of the survey. However, some communes, wards, and special zones lacked personnel for statistical office work and lacked experience in conducting statistical surveys. Furthermore, the software occasionally malfunctioned, leading to disruptions in data synchronization, especially during the initial days of the survey.

The initial results and difficulties in conducting the general economic census in the province were discussed and shared by Deputy Director of the Provincial Statistics Department Do Thi Ngoc and the working group during their recent monitoring trip to Lam Dong . Following this, the leaders of the Statistics Department requested the Provincial Steering Committee to focus on direct on-site and online monitoring via the operational management system. This will allow them to assess the progress and sources of collected information in order to promptly inform, address, and correct any issues.
