On December 7, An Binh Hospital (HCMC) announced that it had just received and successfully treated a case of bladder foreign body in a 16-year-old patient.
After watching an online video showing how to “create a strange feeling,” the male student inserted a phone charger into his urethra.
Because the string was pushed in too far, the patient could not remove it himself, and the foreign object moved into the bladder. For two weeks, the male student kept it a secret for fear of being scolded. Only when the pain and urgency of urination increased did his family find out and took him to the emergency room at An Binh Hospital.
After examination and consultation, the team decided to perform emergency endoscopic surgery to remove the foreign object in the bladder.

According to Master-Doctor Tang Chi Quyen, Urology Department, An Binh Hospital, the surgery lasted about 30 minutes. The team encountered many difficulties because the charger cord was coiled into many loops, and part of it had rotted due to being in the urine environment for too long.
After safely removing the foreign object, the patient's condition stabilized. The doctor provided psychological counseling to the male student and his family, warning them of the risks of imitating dangerous content online related to private areas and reproductive and urinary health.
