He was criticized for being too busy with love and neglecting football. But in a recent conversation with CBS, the young Barca star declared that he is not afraid of fame: " To be honest, I am not afraid of it. In fact, I like fame ."

According to Lamine Yamal, he loves the feeling of being applauded, fans standing up and cheering at his dribbling.

For Yamal, playing football comes naturally: “ I don’t feel any pressure when I play football. I just try to enjoy it. Football is everything to me .”

Yamal shared that because of his early fame, he could not be a normal 18-year-old boy:

“ It’s hard to act like a normal 18-year-old. Even if I wanted to, I never could. People my age, they go home after school, but I go to the training ground with paparazzi standing in front of my house and kids wearing shirts with my name on them on the street.

I want to go to a restaurant like a normal person, but I can't because everyone is surrounding me. This is normal, because I'm famous. So I try to do simpler things, like visit my mother and younger brother, play video games ."

In the interview, Lamine Yamal also answered “yes” immediately when asked whether Spain will win the 2026 World Cup.
