First flight connecting Hanoi with Africa

On the afternoon of July 11, information from Noi Bai International Airport said that the unit had just performed a welcoming ceremony for the first flight of Ethiopian Airlines, opening a new route directly connecting Hanoi (Vietnam) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

This event marks a historic milestone, opening the first direct flight connecting Vietnam and Africa.

Flight ET0678 landed safely at Noi Bai International Airport at 1:15 p.m. As soon as the plane rolled into the parking lot, a solemn water cannon salute was performed to celebrate.

The event will contribute to diversifying the flight network across the region.

Ethiopian Airlines’ new route will be operated four times a week with the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-800 wide-body aircraft. The connection to Addis Ababa, the headquarters of the African Union, will not only provide passengers with easy access to Ethiopia, but also provide seamless connections to the airline’s extensive network across Africa, Europe and the Americas.

The successful opening event is a positive signal, affirming the strong development and attraction of Noi Bai International Airport, which is serving an average of about 40,000 international passengers per day.
