For the first time, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine trains traditional medicine doctors.

Today (June 17), the Ministry of Education and Training has decided to allow Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to train traditional medicine at university level. The traditional medicine doctor training program will be implemented in 6 years, including 196 credits.

According to the decision to promulgate the university-level training program for traditional medicine doctors, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine stipulates that the foreign language requirement for graduation recognition is to have a Chinese certificate level 3/6 equivalent to HSK3 level.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine is currently enrolling 11 majors including: medicine, pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, nutrition, dentistry, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, rehabilitation technology, ophthalmology and public health . Of which, the medical major alone enrolls 660 students (accounting for over 44% of the total enrollment of all majors).

In addition to Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, universities in Ho Chi Minh City that train traditional medicine doctors include: Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Hong Bang International University and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine will consider admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; direct admission; priority admission. Candidates applying to the school must meet the general admission requirements for all admission majors: conduct rating of grade 12 of high school from good or higher; be healthy enough to study according to current regulations; have complete and accurate personal information, application documents according to regulations. For the optometry major, candidates must achieve a high school graduation exam score of 7.0 or higher in English.
