The Spring Calligraphy Festival 2026, themed "National Studies," is a meaningful activity to celebrate the new year, the success of the 14th Party Congress, and to commemorate the 950th anniversary of the founding of Quoc Tu Giam, the country's first national school.

The highlight of the Spring Calligraphy Festival is the activity of requesting calligraphy at the beginning of the year at 35 calligraphy booths of carefully selected calligraphers through an objective and transparent selection process. During the Spring Calligraphy Festival, calligraphers will introduce the art of calligraphy to the public through activities such as writing calligraphy, giving calligraphy, and requesting calligraphy.

Having participated in the Spring Calligraphy Festival for nearly 10 years, Ms. Hoang Anh Diep, Vice Chairman of the UNESCO Calligraphy and Painting Club, said that, like the other 34 calligraphy practitioners, she is passionate about the beauty of traditional calligraphy. For Ms. Hoang Anh Diep, the joy of writing is simple: when her calligraphy is proudly displayed in the homes of those who requested it, giving them added motivation to strive to achieve their goals in the new year.

Besides the calligraphy-giving activity, the spring festival also organizes many heritage education programs and reading cultural spaces, targeting various public groups. Traditional craft products are also displayed and introduced in the area around Van Lake. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience folk games, traditional chess, watch lion dances, or enjoy traditional art forms such as Quan Ho, Ca Tru, and Cheo... organized in the Inner Sanctuary, the Garden of the Guardians, and Van Lake, contributing to a vibrant and culturally rich spring atmosphere.

These exhibitions further affirm the profound historical, cultural, and artistic value of the first national school in the Thang Long cultural heritage.
