In the local reading culture development movement, Ms. Ngo Thi Thu Huong, a teacher at Le Loi Secondary School, is one of the outstanding individuals. Recently, she won first prize in the "Reading Family - Bonding Through Love" competition in Hung Yen province in 2025. Currently, her family's bookshelf has more than 600 books, diverse in genre, becoming a close "knowledge repository" that nurtures a passion for reading among family members. As a homeroom teacher, she also proactively allocates a portion of her personal funds to buy books and newspapers, creating opportunities for students to read together and form a reading habit from their time in school. Ms. Huong shared: "For me, books are the most accessible way to help students access knowledge naturally. When they read more, they will be more confident in their studies, know how to listen and share. I hope that each day they will dedicate a little time to books, so that they can form good habits and develop more comprehensively."

To foster and promote a culture of reading within the community, Pho Hien ward has established a reading space at its library with over 1,000 books categorized by subject areas such as history, philosophy, law, art, literature, economics , and education. The reading space is scientifically arranged and user-friendly, creating favorable conditions for residents to learn, research, and enjoy themselves. It has become a habit for Nguyen Bao Anh from Bai Say residential area to visit the library on weekends. Each time she comes, she finds books that suit her interests. The quiet reading space and numerous good books help her both relax and learn valuable knowledge. She often invites friends to read together, exchanging ideas and learning, finding reading much more enjoyable. Besides attracting students, the library is also a favorite destination for many middle-aged and retired readers. The library has a diverse collection of books on law, animal husbandry, crop cultivation, and health knowledge, meeting the learning needs of the people.
Over the years, Quang Trung Primary and Secondary School has organized and participated in activities such as: introducing the book of the month, the "Drawing based on books" competition, and thematic book exhibitions and presentations. Through these activities, students have access to a wide variety of books, developing their reading comprehension skills, appreciation abilities, creative thinking, and presentation and sharing skills. These activities have created positive changes, aiming to form and nurture a reading habit, ignite a passion for learning, and help students proactively accumulate knowledge on their journey to conquering the world.
In order to gradually build a learning society in the area, Pho Hien ward has consistently innovated its activities, expanding links with publishers, bookstores, and organizations that donate books and newspapers to libraries, improving the quantity and quality of books, newspapers, and magazines. The "Family Reading Together" model has been implemented in residential areas, with many families creatively arranging friendly reading corners, using recycled bookshelves, creating a "reading circle" that spreads knowledge throughout the community. The ward encourages schools to organize activities to develop reading skills for students; diversifying reading spaces and bringing books closer to the community through activities at cultural centers, schools, and residential areas. As a result, a reading culture is increasingly taking shape, becoming one of the factors contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people.
In the ongoing process of building a learning society and developing well-rounded individuals, reading culture is increasingly being affirmed as an indispensable foundational value. Through practical and accessible methods, reading culture in Pho Hien ward has been spreading, contributing to the formation of a knowledge-rich and humane living environment for its residents.
