According to the Vietnam Tourism Association, a project to reduce plastic waste in Vietnam's tourism sector is currently being piloted in Ninh Binh and Quang Nam. Solutions and initiatives to reduce plastic waste are being piloted at a number of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and tourist attractions in these two provinces with the goal of ensuring that by 2025, 100% of tourist areas, accommodation establishments, and hotels will not use non-degradable plastic bags or single-use plastic products.

The workshop contributes to further spreading the issue of plastic waste reduction, raising awareness among all levels, sectors, businesses, people, and tourists about reducing plastic waste, contributing to the goal of developing green and sustainable Vietnamese tourism.
