The atmosphere of the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week became more meaningful when the National Anthem resounded, blending with the sentiments towards the people of the Central and Central Highlands regions who are suffering heavy losses due to the consequences of natural disasters and floods.

At Ho Thi Ky High School (An Xuyen Ward), after the flag-raising ceremony, teachers were the first to contribute, creating a beautiful image, spreading the spirit of volunteerism to students. Immediately after that, students of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 took turns going to the donation box area, many of them bringing money saved from breakfast or from personal expenses.

The fundraising event was solemn, serious but no less warm. The Board of Directors acknowledged the positive response of the teachers and students, considering this an extremely practical activity to educate morality and community awareness.

Nguyen Nguyen Chuong, Class 11A13, shared: “Seeing the people struggling to escape the flood, lacking food and clothing after the water receded, many children no longer having books to go to school, I feel so sorry, I want to contribute a little to support. I believe that the cooperation of each of us, no matter how small, can light up hope for families affected by natural disasters.”

Not only high school students, primary school children also participated with an innocent and warm spirit.

Le Quy Don Primary School (An Xuyen Ward) was busier than usual this morning, with more than 1,660 students donating together. Small gift bags, rice bags, instant noodles, and notebooks were carefully and lovingly sent by the children with all their childish hearts.

Cao Thien Kim, Class 5B, emotionally said: “In the past few days, seeing on TV the floodwaters rising, houses being swept away, and all of my friends’ books getting wet, I feel so sorry, I just wish I could do something to help. Although the gift is small, we send it with all our hearts. I hope these gifts will help the children in the flood areas to have less difficulty.”

Ms. Ngo Thi Diep Lien, Secretary of the Youth Union of Le Quy Don Primary School, said: “We are very touched by the enthusiastic participation of the students. Although the gifts are small, each contribution comes from a heart of sharing. The school will collect and transfer all gifts and donations to the receiving agency to send to the affected areas as soon as possible.”

Integrating the fundraising campaign into the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week not only creates material resources for support, but through this meaningful activity also contributes to training personality and fostering love in the young generation. From simple actions, the children understand that a small act can also create great strength, helping people in disaster areas overcome difficulties./.
