Mr. Luu Kim Oai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, stated: “This year's Humanitarian Month, themed “80 Years – A Journey of Compassion for the Community,” has seen widespread humanitarian aid activities implemented from the provincial level to the grassroots, creating a positive ripple effect in society. The Provincial Red Cross Society continues to play a core role as a bridge and coordinator in humanitarian work; prioritizing the implementation of sustainable livelihood support models, providing people with the “tools” to proactively develop their economy, gradually rise out of poverty, and contribute to ensuring social security.”
Mr. Luu Kim Oai called on all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses, and the entire society to continue joining hands in responding to the humanitarian month, aiming to raise approximately 8 billion VND during the 2026 humanitarian month in the province. The Provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with local authorities, provided support to An Cu commune with 3 Red Cross houses, 40 livelihood support households, and 24 scholarships, totaling 900 million VND funded by the Vietnam Red Cross Society. In addition, they supported Van Khanh commune with 2 rural traffic bridges, Go Quao commune with 3 community water filtration systems, and Vinh Thuan commune with 2 community water filtration systems...
This year's Humanitarian Month activities not only share immediate difficulties but also aim to create livelihoods and provide opportunities for people to gradually stabilize their lives. Receiving 20 million VND in support from the Thien Tam Fund of Vingroup , Ms. Le Thi Mai, residing in Thang Loi hamlet, Vinh Tuy commune, said: “My family is classified as a poor household, and life is difficult. The care and assistance from the Red Cross and benefactors is a motivation for us to strive to improve our lives and achieve stability.”
Tran Van Vu, residing in Tay Son 2 hamlet, An Bien commune, has a father who works as a fisherman. His mother recently passed away due to a serious illness, leaving behind four young children of school age. The extremely difficult circumstances of Vu's family have recently received support from the Provincial Red Cross Society. Similarly, the case of Le Kien Quyet, also residing in An Bien commune, a civil servant whose wife suffers from a serious illness requiring expensive treatment and who faces many hardships in life, also received support from the Society during Humanitarian Month, contributing to spreading humanitarian values in the community.
Alongside this, the voluntary blood donation movement continues to be a highlight of this year's humanitarian month. The Provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with relevant agencies and localities, organized 15 locations to receive voluntary blood donations from officials, union members, youth, armed forces personnel, and the general public. It is expected that more than 2,000 units of blood will be collected through this activity. Mr. Duong Van Nghi, residing in Giong Rieng commune, shared: “Voluntary blood donation is an opportunity for me to contribute a small part to the community, spreading the spirit of sharing and love.” Joining this activity, Mr. Tran Dong Man, Director of Hong Chau Yen Trading and Service Company Limited, Rach Gia ward, said: “We hope to contribute to sharing the difficulties with the people, and we consider this a responsibility and a partnership of individuals and businesses with the community.”
