Outperforming thousands of applicants, Cam Thanh village (Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang) has become the only representative from Vietnam to be honored by the prestigious American magazine Forbes, ranking 20th in the Top 50 most beautiful villages in the world in 2025, affirming the appeal of green and sustainable tourism.
On the afternoon of October 3rd, the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong ward held a press conference to announce this proud achievement and introduce the Thanh Tam inland waterway tourism terminal, opening a new phase of development for the locality.

Cam Thanh possesses a unique geographical location and ecosystem. Situated at the confluence of three major rivers – Thu Bon, Truong Giang, and Lo Canh Giang – before they flow into the East Sea, this area has formed a rare brackish water ecosystem.
This area also serves as a buffer zone for the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve. In particular, the nearly 100-hectare Bay Mau coconut forest is considered a "green lung," not only regulating the climate for the entire region but also providing a "home" for many aquatic species.
The picturesque rivers, lush green rice fields, bamboo groves, and endless rows of water coconut trees have created a peaceful and prosperous Cam Thanh, like a vibrant ink painting.
Forbes' recognition stems not only from the natural beauty but also from the sustainable community-based tourism development model.

Instead of urbanization, the people of Cam Thanh have transformed local values into unique tourism products such as basket boat rowing experiences, local cooking classes, and rustic, friendly homestay services. Handicrafts made from coconut trees have also become a stable source of income, helping to improve people's livelihoods and reduce pressure on natural resources.
Mr. Tran Tan Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong Ward, shared: "This is a great source of pride for the people of Cam Thanh in particular and Hoi An tourism in general. This recognition affirms the increasingly high position of local tourism on the world map."
Mr. Dung emphasized that this serves as a driving force for Cam Thanh to continue preserving its identity, developing its potential, and building its brand as a "green, heritage, and sustainable destination," contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese tourism further on the international stage.
