Ngoc Da peach blossom village is bustling on the last days of the year.
Located on the border of Hanoi, Ngoc Da peach blossom village (Nhu Quynh commune, Hung Yen province) has long been an important link in the supply chain of Tet flowers for Hanoi. According to gardeners, although the cultivated area is facing pressure from urbanization with the emergence of industrial zones, Ngoc Da peach blossoms still hold a special place in the hearts of flower lovers in Hanoi because of their vibrant pink color and enduring vitality.

Located on the border of the capital city, Ngoc Da peach blossom village (Nhu Quynh, Hung Yen), with nearly 50 years of history, has become a key "peach blossom hub," supplying a large quantity of Tet flowers to major flower markets in Hanoi such as Quang Ba and Hang Luoc. At its peak, Ngoc Da village had over 300 households involved in the traditional peach-growing profession, but the area of peach orchards is shrinking significantly due to industrialization and the planning of new urban areas in the locality. Many of the peach trees are over 30 years old, almost as old as the Ngoc Da peach-growing village itself. Mr. Phung Viet Kien, a long-time peach tree grower in Ngoc Da, expressed his concern: "This year, although the flowers are in full bloom, two heavy rains close to Tet have caused some peach trees to bloom early, resulting in considerable losses for the growers." Unlike peach trees, peach branches from Ngoc Da are usually only sold during the last 10 days of the year to meet the demand for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations. According to Mr. Phung Viet Kien, the price of peach blossom branches this year ranges from 600,000 to 700,000 VND per beautiful branch. The streets of Ngoc Da peach blossom village are filled with the vibrant colors of peach blossoms. Despite the hardships and concerns surrounding the profession of growing peach blossoms for Tet (Lunar New Year), today the new peach trees, representing new hope, are being planted in the rows for next year's peach blossom season. As soon as the last peaches are harvested and left the orchards, the farmers are busy tilling the soil and planting seeds for a new spring crop that begins on the 4th day of the first lunar month.
