Located along the tranquil Cai Lach River, Phu Son paper flower village in Vinh Thanh commune, Vinh Long province (formerly Phu Son commune, Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province) has emerged as a captivating destination for tourists from near and far.
As the Lunar New Year approaches, this flower village becomes even more bustling as tourists , photographers, and others come to admire the beautiful scenery and experience the vibrant atmosphere of welcoming the new year in the Mekong Delta region.
Photographer Nguyen Khanh Vu Khoa (41 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) had the opportunity to visit Phu Son paper flower village a few days ago.
Even though this was his third visit to the flower village, he was still impressed and overwhelmed by the colorful natural scenery.
According to Mr. Khoa, in Phu Son bougainvillea village, the flowers are most concentrated along both sides of the road in the embankment area near the Bao Vang canal bridge. This is a variety of flower that is salt-tolerant; the blooms are dense, have vibrant colors, and last a long time.
It is believed that bougainvillea symbolizes peace, elegance, and strength. Therefore, during Tet (Vietnamese New Year), many families in the Mekong Delta often choose this flower, buying it to display in their yards or decorate their homes.
The bougainvillea here is diverse in shape, color, and leaf type, ranging from pink, red, orange, yellow, white, and purple to common green or marbled leaves…
Among them, the most popular and favored are medium and small-sized bougainvillea plants, uniquely shaped and about 2-3 years old.
Khoa suggests that the ideal time to visit and take beautiful photos at Phu Son paper flower village is in the morning or early afternoon, around 9-10 am or 2-3 pm.
At this time of year, the weather is cool and the sunshine is gentle, making it ideal for tourists to explore, enjoy outdoor activities, and take photos.
