Hanoi currently has over 1,300 craft villages and villages with traditional crafts, of which more than 300 have been officially recognized as traditional craft villages. These are not only important resources that promote economic development and create stable jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers in rural and suburban areas, but also a treasure trove of rich cultural heritage, reflecting the depth of history, production practices, and creative ingenuity of many generations.
In the context of increasingly deep international economic integration, Hanoi's craft villages are facing many opportunities but also numerous challenges. Along with fierce market competition and increasingly high demands for quality, design, and the ability to meet consumer needs, these craft villages must constantly innovate.
Digital transformation has become an inevitable trend, opening up new avenues for craft villages to access broader markets, especially through e-commerce platforms and digital media. Digital transformation not only contributes to enhancing competitiveness and increasing product value, but also creates a new foundation for promoting and preserving traditional values, helping craft villages develop sustainably.
