The event was organized by the Ministry of Health, the National Action Center for Chemical and Environmental Toxic Substances (NACCET) under the Ministry of National Defense , CRS and the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities. The program had the theme: “Promoting social integration for people with disabilities for the progress of the community”, aiming to raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society for work with people with disabilities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan - Chairman of the National Committee for Persons with Disabilities in Vietnam, affirmed: The work of caring for, protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities has always received special attention from the Party and State, considering this a consistent policy.
The Minister also expressed his impression and emotion when witnessing many shining examples of perseverance and optimism of people with disabilities - those who have overcome physical barriers and prejudices to study, work, contribute, take control of their own lives and effectively contribute to the development of the community and the country.
Regarding the orientation in the coming time, Minister Dao Hong Lan called on all levels, sectors, localities and the whole society to continue promoting communication work, raising awareness, changing prejudices, removing physical and social barriers, building a humane living environment, without discrimination against people with disabilities. At the same time, strengthening enforcement, ensuring the rights of people with disabilities are realized in practice, especially the right to access inclusive education, health care, sustainable employment and public services. Along with that, continuing to improve mechanisms, policies and laws on people with disabilities and effectively organizing the implementation of programs to support people with disabilities.

Sharing at the program, the representative of the National Action Center for Overcoming the Consequences of Toxic Chemicals and the Environment (NACCET) - Commander of the Chemical Corps, Ministry of National Defense, Major General Nguyen Dinh Hien, General Director of the Center affirmed that NACCET will always be a reliable bridge between people with disabilities, especially those with disabilities caused by toxic chemicals - and the community, expanding opportunities for integration of people with disabilities. The Center will also strengthen support activities, ensuring all support activities are directed to the right subjects, contributing to building a fair, humane, and civilized society where people with disabilities have the opportunity to contribute to the country. At the same time, the Center will also contribute to research and propose policies for people with disabilities who are victims of toxic chemicals and the environment, contributing to creating positive changes with long-term significance for people with disabilities nationwide.

Delegates and sponsors also gave many gifts to disabled people in difficult circumstances.
Vietnam currently has over 7 million people with disabilities, accounting for 7.06% of the population aged 2 and over. The organization of this event once again affirms Vietnam's strong commitment to ensuring inclusion and non-discrimination for people with disabilities, towards a barrier-free society where no one is left behind.
