Lang Son invests in developing tourism infrastructure in Mau Son.

The Mau Son eco-tourism complex and cable car system project, with a total investment of over 7,000 billion VND, is opening up opportunities to create a breakthrough for Lang Son's tourism industry, contributing to the effective exploitation of the potential of the high mountain region, and promoting the development of the local service economy in the new phase.

In its socio -economic development strategy for the coming years, Lang Son province identifies tourism as one of its important economic sectors, playing a role in promoting the shift in economic structure towards increasing the proportion of services. Among these, the Mau Son National Tourist Area is considered a highlight thanks to its outstanding advantages in climate, natural landscape, and highland cultural identity.

To boost the tourism industry, the Mau Son eco-tourism, resort, and cable car complex project, with a total investment of over 7,000 billion VND, is being actively implemented. The project is planned on an area of ​​hundreds of hectares and includes components such as a resort, eco-tourism area, commercial and entertainment service area, and a modern cable car system connecting various attractions on the summit of Mau Son.

Mau Son is a potential tourist destination attracting a large number of visitors.

According to the plan, the project will be implemented in several phases, with some components expected to start construction in 2026 and gradually put into operation in the following years. When completed, the cable car system will help shorten travel time, improve accessibility to the tourist area, and thereby facilitate visitors' experience of the unique tourism products of the high mountain region.

Located at an altitude of over 1,500 meters above sea level, Mau Son is renowned for its cool climate year-round, with snow and ice occurring in winter – a rare phenomenon in Vietnam. In addition, the area boasts a rich forest ecosystem, majestic mountain scenery, and many unique cultural values ​​of the ethnic groups who have lived there for generations, creating advantages for developing ecotourism, resort tourism, nature exploration , and cultural experiences.

Lang Son Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Quoc Khanh emphasized that the province identifies tourism as one of its important economic sectors, with the Mau Son tourist area holding a special position in the local tourism development expansion plan. The Provincial Party Secretary requested that relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities strengthen coordination, proactively and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles in accordance with regulations, creating favorable conditions for the project to be implemented on schedule, while ensuring requirements for planning, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

Mau Son is an ideal spot for tourists to "hunt for ice".

Tourism experts believe that once the project is operational, Mau Son will have many new tourism products, extending the length of stay for tourists and increasing their spending, thereby improving the economic efficiency of tourism. Besides the direct benefits from service activities, the project will also create a ripple effect on many other sectors such as transportation, trade, accommodation, food, and local goods production, contributing to job creation and increased income for people in the highlands.

The synchronized investment in tourism infrastructure, transportation, and service facilities is also expected to improve the appearance of the Mau Son tourist area, gradually forming a new economic and tourism development space for Lang Son province. This is considered an important step towards realizing the goal of making tourism a key economic sector, contributing positively to local economic growth in the coming years.
