Khanh Hoa Provincial leaders work with Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding Company

Within the framework of the working trip of Khanh Hoa provincial leaders to visit and work in Korea, on the afternoon of September 23, the working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding Company in Ulsan city, Korea.

Attending the working session on behalf of Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding Company were General Director Kim Hyun Kwan and Mr. Hwang Tae Kwan - Executive Director of Production Management; Mr. Kim Chang Hwan - Executive Director of Human Resources Management; Mr. Choi Hae Ju - Executive Director of Production Planning and Improvement and representatives of Hyundai Mipo's subcontracting companies.

After listening to the representative of Hyundai Mipo Company introduce the general overview of the unit, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan shared the purpose of the visit as well as information on the socio-economic situation and potential strengths of the province, especially after the Politburo issued Resolution 09 on building and developing Khanh Hoa province until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Also at the meeting, the leaders of the Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board introduced the fields attracting investment in the economic zone.

Through this meeting, the leaders of both sides hope to promote the cooperative relationship between Khanh Hoa and Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding Company and call on the company to continue expanding its investment activities in Khanh Hoa province, especially Van Phong Economic Zone. This is also an activity demonstrating the commitment of the provincial leaders in creating a favorable investment environment and supporting foreign enterprises in the locality; promising to open up many steps of investment cooperation between Khanh Hoa province and Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding Company in the future.

* Also within the framework of the visit to Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding Company, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tan Tuan took the time to directly visit the construction site, accommodation and present gifts to 20 outstanding Vietnamese engineers and workers working at Hyundai Mipo, demonstrating the provincial leaders' concern for workers working far from home. The Vietnamese engineers and workers working far from home were very touched, surprised and excited when the provincial leaders and the delegation came to visit and present gifts of encouragement. Vietnamese workers at the factory are always highly appreciated for their capacity and working spirit.

It is known that the whole country currently has more than 700 skilled Vietnamese workers working at the Hyundai Mipo shipyard in Ulsan city; of which, Khanh Hoa province has about 200 workers trained in fields such as: Manufacturing, ship welding, nearshore fishing, metallurgy, casting and other related workers. At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan sent his regards and encouragement to the workers being trained in Korea; at the same time, he requested the workers to comply with the policies and laws of the host country, and after training, return to their homeland to contribute to the local socio-economic development.
