Leaders of Thai Nguyen province received and worked with the delegation of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, Korea

The relationship between Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces has been constantly strengthened and developed, becoming a typical model of friendly and substantive cooperation between localities of Vietnam and Korea - That was the opinion of comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee at the reception and working session with the delegation of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, Korea led by Mr. Lee Cheol Woo, Governor, who visited and worked in Thai Nguyen province, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishing cooperative relations between Thai Nguyen province (Vietnam) and Gyeongsangbuk-do (Korea), on December 2.

In his welcoming speech to the delegation visiting and working in Thai Nguyen province, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong informed the delegation about the results in socio-economic development and investment attraction of Thai Nguyen province in recent times; emphasizing the contributions of Korean enterprises in general and enterprises from Gyeongsangbuk-do province in particular.
He affirmed that, on the basis of the good relationship between Vietnam and Korea since the signing of the friendship cooperation agreement in 2005, the two provinces have always given each other effective and trustworthy support and cooperation, which has been increasingly consolidated.
Currently, Thai Nguyen province has 03 localities signing with partners in Gyeongsangbuk-do province, including: Dinh Hoa District People's Committee (old) with Cheongdo District Government (2014); Song Cong City People's Committee (old) with Mungyeong City Government (2018); Pho Yen City People's Committee (old) with Chilgok District Government (2023). Regarding departments, branches and sectors, outstanding cooperation activities between Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces have been implemented, specifically: Thai Nguyen Provincial Police signed a cooperation agreement with Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Police Department (2013); Thai Nguyen Provincial Department of Education and Training, Thai Nguyen University of Education - Thai Nguyen University signed a cooperation agreement with Daegu National University of Education, Korea (2022).
Cooperation and exchange activities have contributed to promoting socio-economic development, improving income and quality of life of people in localities in Thai Nguyen province; at the same time, strengthening the connection and understanding between officials and people of the two provinces, vividly demonstrating the spirit of close cooperation and effective people-to-people exchange within the framework of long-term friendship.
Affirming that Thai Nguyen always values ​​the long-term, traditional friendship and active support of the two countries' governments, the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the business community, the Provincial Party Secretary hoped that the friendship and investment cooperation activities between the two localities would increasingly develop in the direction of quality, efficiency, and depth.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of cooperative relations, the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee expressed its gratitude to the government and people of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, and the Governor himself, for always accompanying Thai Nguyen province; and believed that, with the solid foundation already in place, the relationship between Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do will continue to expand and develop further.

Thanking the warm welcome of the leaders of Thai Nguyen province, Mr. Lee Cheol Woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, highly appreciated the cooperation results between the two provinces over the past 20 years, especially for Thai Nguyen, a locality that has attracted many leading companies in the world to invest, including large Korean corporations such as Samsung, Dongwha, Hansol Electronics Company... He affirmed that Gyeongsangbuk-do always considers Thai Nguyen a strategic partner in Vietnam. Gyeongsangbuk-do province is ready to share experiences in digital transformation, high-tech agriculture, smart urban development and expanding business connections between the two localities.

The Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province also expressed his hope and expectation that in the coming time, the cooperative relationship between the two localities will continue to develop further, contributing to strengthening the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" between Vietnam and Korea in general and the close-knit relationship between Thai Nguyen Province and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province in particular.
On this occasion, Gyeongsangbuk-do province supported Thai Nguyen province with 2 billion VND to overcome the consequences of recent storms and floods.
